Sheboygan Press – The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation and its task force to create a technology-focused district hired a full-time director to focus on programming for the initiative.

Nick O’Brien was named the director of innovation and engagement for the FreshTech Innovation District. He brings experience in talent attraction, retention strategies and community engagement through his previous work in other counties in the state.

“This innovation district is an effort to unify, centralize a lot of the innovation activity that’s already happening in the county,” he said.

The FreshTech district hopes to bring together innovation of every level, O’Brien explained, from the work being done at the Kohler waste lab to the hobby projects people work on in their own garage.
